Criminal Defense Only

My practice is limited to the defense of State Criminal cases. I have nearly 20 years experience in defending criminal charges and I am board certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

I represent individuals charged in State Court. My entire practice focuses on defending people charged with criminal offenses.

It's popular to pay lip service to our constitutional rights. Everyone wants their rights protected. But ask those same people about protecting the rights of a criminal defendant and you often get a different answer. This is wrong, and therein lies the danger for us all.

I believe there is no higher calling in the legal profession than defending the criminally accused. I'm committed to fighting for those rights, and fighting for my clients, one case at a time.

In late 2005 I decided to focus my practice on criminal defense. I did this for two reasons.

First, I wanted to become the best possible criminal defense lawyer I could be. I became convinced then, and still am, that a general practice lawyer would always be at a disadvantage over a lawyer whose practice was more narrowly focused. Our world is becoming increasingly specialized and the law in no different. There is truth in the phrase that "a jack of all trades is a master of none."

Second, my courtroom opponents—state prosecutors—spend their days focused exclusively on prosecuting cases. I believed then, and still do, that it is in my client's best interest to match their focus with the same attention.
