E. Jason Leach

E. Jason Leach currently practices law in Odessa, Texas, representing individuals in felony and misdemeanor criminal proceedings in state court.  He is board-certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Leach is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense lawyers.

The Law Office of E. Jason Leach, PLCC, focuses exclusively on criminal defense law and has done so since 2005.

Mr. Leach limits his practice to criminal law due to his belief that the singular focus helps him provide clients with the most vigorous defense possible. Prosecutors focus their work exclusively on prosecuting criminal cases, and Mr. Leach believes he can best serve his clients' interests by matching their singular focus.

E. Jason Leach is a firm supporter of constitutional rights. Mr. Leach believes that the rights of those accused of a crime are as important as the rights of the public at large. While defending the accused may not be popular, Mr. Leach believes fighting for his client's constitutional rights benefits every citizen.

Criminal Defense Only

My practice is limited to the defense of State Criminal cases. I have over 24 years of experience in defending criminal charges in state court. I am board certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Why Criminal Defense?

It's popular to pay lip service to our constitutional rights. Everyone wants their rights protected. But ask those same people about protecting the rights of a criminal defendant and you often get a different answer. This is wrong, and therein lies the danger for us all.

I believe there is no higher calling in the legal profession than defending the criminally accused. I'm committed to fighting for those rights and fighting for my clients, one case at a time.

Why only one practice area?

In late 2005 I decided to focus my practice on criminal defense. I did this for two reasons.

First, I wanted to become the best possible criminal defense lawyer I could be. I became convinced then, and still am, that a general practice lawyer would always be at a disadvantage over a lawyer whose practice was more narrowly focused. Our world is becoming increasingly specialized and the law is no different. There is truth in the phrase that "a jack of all trades is a master of none."

Second, my courtroom opponents—state prosecutors—spend their days focused exclusively on prosecuting cases. I believed then, and still do, that it is in my client's best interest to match their focus with the same dedicated attention.
